STEAM

What is STEAM?

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. STEAM is important because it pervades every part of our lives. Science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Engineering handles the challenges of changing global weather and environmentally-friendly changes to our home. Mathematics is in every activity we do in our lives. With the integration of arts, children can learn the technical concepts in aural and visual approaches.

KE Academy’s STEAM course uses hands-on experiments to help students to develop a passion for the subjects involved and improve problem solving and critical thinking skills. Instead of just teaching them, we also allow children to experience the concepts, which allows for better understanding and increased enjoyment. Our classes encourage kids to be more creative and better problem solvers, and allow them to engage in the world around them instead of simply memorising facts. Making math and science both fun and interesting helps the student to do much more than just learn. Our course also encourages critical thinking, collaboration with peers and teamwork, all valuable skills that will come into use later in life.

Robotics

Our robotic component inside STEAM allows your children to design and construct your robot, including Blockly code to program the robots for navigating themselves, avoiding obstacles, carrying objects, and so on. The fun part is extended by students’ imagination to make the robots perform countless programs and tricks.

3D Printing and STEAM

Students learn the process of how a 3D printer is able to create the final product. They are also encouraged to think about how this machinery can be used to help industries in the real world. In the STEAM classes, students are given many scenarios as they are encouraged to think about plans in order to solve the problem. This is more of a practical class where students need to build stuff and work in teams.
